What your membership actually covers

Every Sterling Group membership includes unlimited access to open-gym hours, full use of the strength floor, turf lanes, and cardio equipment, and baseline access to the community programming dashboard where coaches post weekly blocks and members log their sessions. Higher tiers add coached group classes, personal training credits, and guest passes. There are no enrollment fees beyond the first month, and month-to-month plans can be paused once per calendar year for up to 30 days — useful for the New Yorkers who actually take vacations.

Membership questions, answered directly

Is there a joining fee or sign-up cost beyond the first month?

No. There is no enrollment fee, no annual admin charge, and no hidden cost buried in the fine print. You pay the first month when you sign up, and subsequent charges hit on the same date each month. If you want to cancel, you give 15 days written notice and that is the end of it.

Can I try the gym before committing to a membership?

Yes. We offer a single 7-day trial at $25, which gives you full open-gym access and one complimentary drop-in to a coached group class. The $25 is credited toward your first month if you sign up at the end of the trial. No pressure, no follow-up sales call.

How does the pause feature work on month-to-month plans?

Month-to-month members on Foundation and Community tiers can pause once per calendar year for between 7 and 30 consecutive days. You request the pause at least 5 days in advance via the Sterling app. Billing resumes automatically on the day your pause ends. Performance tier members can pause up to twice per year.

What happens to my personal training credits if I don't use them?

Personal training credits included in the Performance tier roll over for one calendar month. If you carry credits for two months without using them, they expire. We built it this way to encourage members to actually use their coaching time, not stockpile it. If life gets complicated, talk to us — we can work something out on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer corporate or group membership rates?

Yes. Companies placing five or more memberships qualify for a 15% reduction on the Community or Performance tier. We have active corporate accounts with a handful of Midtown firms whose employees train here before or after the office. Contact us directly at info@driftyard.cc to set up an account.
